The 2004 Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker in Satin Ebony is a stripped-down, lightweight single-cut electric built for straightforward playability and bite. This one sports a slim mahogany body with a satin black finish and a single P-90 in the bridge position, delivering a raw, mid-forward tone well suited to punk, garage, and bluesy rock. The neck is a slim profile mahogany set with a bound rosewood fingerboard and dot inlays, offering quick access across the fretboard and a familiar Les Paul scale length of 24.75". Controls are simple— a single volume and a single tone knob— keeping the signal path direct and immediate.
This Melody Maker is lighter than standard Les Pauls thanks to its pared-back appointments and thinner body, making it comfortable for long playing sessions and gigging. It’s a simple, tone-first instrument that’s ready for miles of shows ahead.
