This Chicago-crafted Harmony H1203 Sovereign from the early 1960s is an orchestra-model acoustic-electric built with a solid spruce top and mahogany back and sides, offering a balanced, mid-forward tonal character typical of vintage OM designs. It features a 25 1/8" scale with a rosewood fingerboard, a 1 3/4" nut width, and a body shape that sits comfortably for fingerstyle and light strumming.
This example presents the classic appointments of Harmony’s early 1960s catalog: bound top and fingerboard, vintage-style tuners, and aged gloss finish that shows earned checking and wear consistent with its age. Playability is defined by the 25 1/8" scale and fingerstyle-friendly 1 3/4" nut.

Notes:
This Early 1960s Harmony H1203 Sovereign acoustic-electric guitar is in Very Good condition with light age-appropriate wear throughout (pictured), part of a climate controlled family collection, really nicely restored with a Bridge Doctor installed for remarkably low, even action across the fingerboard. An unknown feedback-resistant passive pickup has been professionally installed, likely a K&K Pure Mini or similar—sounds great plugged-in! Includes fitted hard case.
All instruments from the Old Town School Music Store are professionally evaluated in our climate-controlled storefront before shipping, and directly support the missions, programs, and continued growth of the Old Town School of Folk Music.
