Handcrafted in Madison, Wisconsin by luthier Todd Cambio, this 2011 Fraulini Francesca 12-String is a masterfully crafted homage to the iconic, ladder-braced Stella Auditorium 12-strings produced by the Oscar Schmidt Company in the 1920s and 30s—instruments famously favored by blues legends like Lead Belly and Blind Willie McTell. Built around traditional pre-war construction techniques, the Francesca Auditorium features a 16-inch lower bout, hot hide glue assembly, hand-carved vintage details, and Cambio’s custom in-house reproduction tailpiece, which accommodates both loop-end and ball-end strings. Designed specifically with a long 26.5-inch scale length to support heavy-gauge strings tuned down to low C or B, this auditorium-sized acoustic produces a booming, resonant low-end rumble and a dry, woody, authentic vintage tone that flawlessly captures the golden era of American country blues and ragtime guitar.
Notes:
This 2011 Fraulini Francesca 12-String Auditorium Acoustic Guitar is in Very Good condition, part of a family collection, with visible play wear (pictured in detail) consistent with age and appropriate live and studio use. Includes hard case, missing handle but replaced with cord (pictured).
